Getting Started

What is BigStash.app?
BigStash.app is your personal treasure vault for managing valuables including jewelry, precious metals, handbags, gemstones, and more. Upload photos, track values, organize by categories, and generate detailed reports about your collection.
How do I add my first item?
Click the 'Add Item' button in the top navigation bar. Select a category (Jewelry, Precious Metals, Handbags, Gemstones, or Other), fill in the details including name, metal composition, gemstones, and upload photos. You can also add purchase information, current value, and custom tags.
Is BigStash.app free to use?
BigStash.app offers three plans: Free Bronze Plan (up to 10 items), Silver Plan ($7/month with up to 100 items), and Gold Plan ($15/month with unlimited items).

Subscription & Billing

What are the differences between subscription plans?
The Free Bronze Plan allows up to 10 items with 3 photos each. Silver Plan ($7/month) allows 100 items with 10 photos each, plus support tickets and basic sharing. Gold Plan ($15/month) offers unlimited items and photos, priority support, unlimited sharing, and advanced analytics.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes! Paid subscribers can cancel their subscription at any time from the Profile page. Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period, after which you'll be moved to the Bronze Plan.
What happens to my data if I downgrade?
If you downgrade to a plan with lower limits, your existing data remains safe. However, you won't be able to add new items or photos beyond your new plan's limits until you delete some items or upgrade again.

Managing Your Collection

How do I organize my items?
You can organize items by category (Jewelry, Precious Metals, Handbags, Gemstones, Other) with subcategories like rings, necklaces, coins, bars, and more. Add custom tags to each item and use the search to find items by name, description, or tags.
Can I upload multiple photos for each item?
Yes! The number of photos depends on your plan: Bronze Plan (3 photos), Silver Plan (10 photos), Gold Plan (unlimited). Photos are securely stored in cloud storage and can be viewed full-size or downloaded.
How do I track the value of my items?
When adding or editing an item, enter the current value in the value field. BigStash.app also calculates estimated melt values based on metal composition and current market prices. View total collection value and breakdowns in the Reports section.
What are tags and how do I use them?
Tags are custom labels you can add to items for flexible organization. For example, tag items as 'vintage', 'family heirloom', 'investment', or 'everyday wear'. Use tags to filter and search your collection more easily.

Photos & Storage

How secure are my photos?
Your photos are securely stored in AWS S3 cloud storage with user-specific folder segregation. Only you can access your photos through your authenticated account. Photos are served via presigned URLs for enhanced security.
Can I download my photos?
Yes! You can view full-size photos and download them from the item detail page. You can also export your entire collection data including photo references via the Reports page.

Sharing & Privacy

Can I share individual jewelry items with others?
Yes! Each item has a 'Share' feature that generates a unique public link. Anyone with this link can view the item details and photos, even without an account. You can revoke the share link at any time.
What happens when I delete an item?
Deleted items are moved to 'Recently Deleted' where they remain for 30 days. During this time, you can recover them with one click. After 30 days, items are permanently deleted. Note that share links are immediately revoked when an item is deleted.
Is my collection data private?
Absolutely! Your collection is private by default and only visible to you when logged in. Only items you explicitly share via share links are publicly accessible. Your account data and collection details are never shared with third parties.

Reports & Analytics

What reports can I generate?
The Reports page provides collection statistics, category breakdowns, total value summaries, and value-over-time charts. You can filter reports by category and export your data as CSV or PDF files.
Are value calculations automatic?
BigStash.app calculates estimated melt values based on metal composition and current market prices. You can also manually enter the current market value for each item. The Reports page shows both user-provided values and estimated melt values.

Technical & Support

Is there a mobile app?
Currently, BigStash.app is a web-based application optimized for both desktop and mobile browsers. You can access it from any device with an internet connection and a modern web browser.
How do I contact support?
Silver Plan and Gold Plan subscribers can submit support tickets directly through the Support page. Bronze Plan users can view the FAQ for self-service help. You can also call us at (833) 320-6316.
